Closer Than The Breath

 
When you say you are closer
To me than my own breath
So far, it was just a poetic expression
Until today when I  realise its depth

Before I breath in my tears
Before I laugh out with tears
it's you who check me out
Ensuring my survival
with either kind of the tears

Closer than the breath truly
Gloomy day, happy or moody
Unknowingly I did judge you poorly
We are closer absolutely
closer than the breath

After I breathe my last

I will have you as my companion

Surely this is also not

 just a poetic expression 

Such an Assurance this is

that you are closer to me

than my own breath

I am not lonely 

whether alive or dead

The inner voice of mine

My guiding light

you are closer to me

than my own breath

Most ignored & taken for granted

Loved & trustworthy Friend

In true sense a soulmate

you are closer to me

than my own breath

I dont really care
If the journey is long

The Rhythm of my life
You are my life's song
Let there be as many storms
With you beside me
I will stay strong

You are a friend of mine
A rare true companion
Even after losing sometime
I feel like a champion

You will be there for me
Even if I go wrong
You are my true shelter
You are where I belong

Friend, I let you down sometime
You continue to stand strong
Someday I want to make you proud
Just so that I hear you applaud

I see the value now
My priceless possession
Better late than never
But I do realise your significance

My Friend , you just stay around
I will feel safe and sound
No matter how wrong it gets
With you alongside,
my life will surely rebound

My Friend, I lack words
To say what I feel for you
Words are so small
For a princess just crowned

I should not play with words
Its meaningless chatter 
Your friendship makes me feel astound
And thats what really matters

You just hold my hand
And take me along
I just dont care
if the journey is long...
